Lower Zambezi National Park, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves in Africa, offers exceptional wildlife viewing from both land and the waters of the Zambezi.

Zambia also plays host to impressive wildlife migrations. Liuwa Plain National Park, remote and secluded in the far western reaches of the country is home to the second largest wildebeest migration on the continent. Be amongst the herds as huge numbers of herbivores are tracked by hungry clans of up to 50 spotted hyenas. Arguably, an even more impressive spectacle occurs at Kasanka National Park. Hide in wait in the tree canopy as 10 million straw-coloured fruit bats blanket the sky as they leave and return to roost.

Kafue National Park, the largest park in the country and home to an impressive 158 mammal species including roan, sable and sitatunga, as well as the only hot air balloon operation in the country, is not to be missed.

A Zambian safari holiday almost always includes a stay on the Zambezi close to the world’s largest waterfall, Victoria Falls.
